The Village Residents Association Board is composed of residents (both students and non-students) who want to make an impact on the community. The Board meets monthly to discuss issues of importance to Village residents. The Board plans public meetings, approves funding requests, writes letters to campus officials, and advocates on behalf of Village residents.
Our current VRA Board Members are:

Ron Bialkowski, RA Liason & Fundraising Advocate
I am a Ph.D. student in History and one of the Village resident advisors. I have lived in the Village for six years and have served on the VRA Board for over two years. I have a strong interest in community building activities that celebrate the Village's rich intellectual and cultural diversity. If you have any ideas for expanding programming in the Village, please feel free to contact me at 867-8632 or zrbialk@earthlink.net.
My favorite activity would be situating words and ideas in rather odd places. Since words can be rearranged into an infinite constellation of nuances, I find it rather amusing to work very hard at uncovering just the wrong place for them.

Lisa Monson
We have have been here for almost four years while my husband has been
working on a PhD in Chemistry. We have lived in the University Village for two of those years and feel that this is definitely the place to be. I am at home with my two children who will be 4 and 2 in March.
My interests are camping, hiking, snorkeling, and most outdoor activities. I also like crafts such as scrapbooking, sewing, needle work, and recently, knitting (still working on that first project!).
I enjoy serving on the VRA Board. I especially like helping with activities that give me an opportunity to meet the children in the Village. They are such a fun group that their enthusiasm is contagious.

I am an undergraduate in Sociology in my Junior year at UC, and a mother of two daughters, ages eight and ten. My girls attend Ocean View Elementary, and I’ve lived in Albany and Berkeley on and off for thirty years. We are relatively new to the Village, and I am very excited about the unique international community here, and the possibilities that offers.
I enjoy old movies and games, and particularly enjoy planning and participating in the different recreational events held for Village families. I’d love to hear suggestions from residents!

I am an undergraduate student parent, majoring in Social Welfare. I have lived in the Village for almost 3 years now with my husband and 6 year old daughter.
As a VRA board member and the President of the Student Parent Association for Recruitment and Retention (SPARR) on campus, I am specifically interested in creating awareness, support services, and advocacy for the small student parent undergraduate population.

I completed my undergraduate education at UC Berkeley. My family and I have been living in the Village for four and a half years.
