Maintenance During Office Hours
For routing maintenance and emergencies during office hours, call the Village Office at 526-8505, extension 10, or walk into the office to make a repair request in person.
After Hours Maintenance
For real emergencies after office hours such as: no electricity, no water, a flood, a gas leak, or sewer (toilet) back-ups, call the emergency maintenance number at 642-2828. The operator will ask for your:
- Name
- Building number
- Apartment number
- Phone number where you can be reached
- Description of the problem
Lockouts
If you’re locked out during regular office hours, go to the office to check out a key. You must return the checked-out key within 24 hours to avoid paying a $4 fee.
If you’re locked out after office hours, call the Village Resident Advisor on call at 224-8298. Speaking slowly and clearly, provide the following information:
- Your name
- Building and Apartment numbers
- Phone number where you can be reached
- Briefly describe your problem: “I am locked out.”
- Please wait for a response; the worker may be attending to other emergencies
- There is a $10 charge for lockouts on weekdays between 5:00 pm and midnight.
- There is a $20 charge for lockouts between midnight and when the office opens in the morning.
* Note that the office can only open apartments for:
- Tenants who are listed on the lease
- Visitors whose names have been submitted to the office on a permission slip in advance
Phone Service
AT&T is the only phone company allowed to install or service your phone connection. The Village is required to provide one working phone jack per apartment, and will fix problems with the internal wiring. If you call another company to do repairs, you will be liable for any cost incurred and will not be reimbursed.
