The Family Resource Center (FRC), located at 435 Gooding Way in Blg 123, Apt 456 (see map), is a collaborative effort between University Village and the Student Parent Association. The FRC provides drop in activities for Village residents' children ages 6 months to 5 years.

Drop in Activities

Four days a week the FRC provides 3 hours of fun and age-appropriate activities for children while student parents are studying, using the computer center, or involved in other activities in the Village. Activities include, but are not limited to, arts and craft projects, storytelling, and playing games.

This FRC service is free for all Village residents and is offered on a first come, first served basis. Current operating hours are Tuesday - Friday, 9am - 12pm. Space is limited.

Guidelines are as follows:

1. You must sign a waiver every semester before services can be provided.
2. You must sign your child(ren) in and out every time they attend FRC.
3. You must be on site, in the Village, and reachable by phone or pager for the entire time your child(ren) are at FRC.
4. You must be on time to pick up your child, or you will jeopardize any future use of FRC.
5. As determined by FRC staff, we cannot, under any circumstances, provide care for a sick child. (This is available at Wheezles and Sneezles)
6. If your child uses diapers and/or does not eat solid foods, YOU need to provide 2 diapers and formula or other appropriate snacks per child. The FRC does not keep diapers or formula on site.
7. Light snacks will be served. It is extremely important to inform the FRC staff if your child has any allergies or food restrictions.
8. To reserve a space, contact FRC the previous day at (510) 528-4784 between 7am and 5pm. Leave your name, your child’s name and age, and a phone number where you may be reached. An FRC staff member will call to confirm your reservation. You may also call during operating hours to see if space is available for that day.

Saturday Activities For Kids Events (SAKE)

Also known as Finals Child Care, SAKE provides organized activities for kids while student parents study for and/or take final exams. Kids 6 months and up are eligible. Sign-ups are required in advance. Contact the FRC staff or look for announcements on scheduled dates for details.
