Question: Was this the Graduate Resident Assistant position?

Answer: Yes. Since many of our apartment residents will be undergraduate students, we no longer require these positions to be filled by graduate students. However, as the Manville and College/Durant apartment buildings are predominantly or entirely graduate students, students with graduate student status will be given preference for these locations.

Question: Do I need to be a graduate student to apply?
Answer: No, however as stated above, as the Manville and College/Durant apartment buildings are predominantly or entirely graduate students, students with graduate student status will be given preference for these locations.
Question: What previous residence hall experience is necessary?

Answer: We require one year of previous Residence Hall Live-In Staff experience or one year of experience living in the UC Berkeley Graduate Student Apartments (Ida Louise Jackson House or Manville).

Question: I need some help with my resume - who can I talk to?

Answer: We recommend talking with the Career Center if you're interested in information on resumes. You can visit their website at http://career.berkeley.edu or visit at 2111 Bancroft Way (past Oxford Way). The Career Center is open from 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday.

Question: May I apply for AA and another position?

Answer: Certainly. However, if offered to both, you will have to choose one.

Selection Timeline

Application will be accepted on a rolling basis for the AA position. The
First priority deadline is December 3, 2007.

(priority deadline) 5:00pm to ground floor RSSB
Monday, January 21, 2007 Interview Notification by e-mail
Wednesday, January 23, 2007 Interview Sign ups at ground floor RSSB 9am-5pm.
A printout of your Fall 2007 unofficial transcript (with student name)
must be submitted when you sign up.
Interview Workshops will be available on January 30th and January 31st at
7PM for candidates offered an interview.
